VSCR ANNUAL REPORT 2024

Dear friends and supporters of VSCR,
2024 was a challenging, but a successful year of performance. It brought new projects and new geographic extensions.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

In 2024, VSCR and its faculty were engaged in several Capacity Building Programs for public and institutional health policy makers/payers from various geographies. These accredited programs were designed and led by Prof. Lieven Annemans, MSc, PhD, Senior Professor of Health Economics, Ghent University, Belgium and Prof. Heinrich Klech, MD, PhD, Managing Director VSCR, Vienna and Margarete Schreiner-Karner, MSc, Operational Manager VSCR.

CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM IN GCC COUNTRIES

In 2024, a large number of policy makers and payers from GCC countries (UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain) successfully have accomplished VSCR’s Diploma Programs in Health Outcome Research (HEOR) and HTA Technology.
This program was executed in cooperation with EHES (Emirates Health Economic Society) and I&S (Ideas and Solutions, Hungary). The modules were executed in a hybrid fashion (online and onsite in Dubai). We thank Dr. Sara Al Dallal, President of Emirates Health Economics Society as well as Prof. Lieven Annemans and the directors of Ideas &Solutions, Inc., Dr. David Danko and Dr. Mark Molnar for their excellent contributions. This program was supported by an unrestricted grant from Johnson & Johnson.

CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA

Currently a large number of health policy makers/payers from Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) including countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Senegal, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya, Rwanda have started VSCR’s HEOR Diploma together with an informal training about Supply Chain Technology and Health Systems Awareness, Resilience and Transformation. This program will continue until the end of 2025.

Experts such as Prof. Lieven Annemanns, University of Ghent, Belgium and Prof. Justice Nonvignon, Public Health, University of Ghana, both distinguished members of VSCR’s faculty presented valuable business cases and examples. Further experts were Nina Bressler, Head of Societal Learning, Novartis Institute and many more. This VSCR Diploma Program was supported by an unrestricted grant from Novartis.

Selected European stakeholders attended successfully VSCR’s regular HEOR Diploma programs in 2023 and 2024. Partly supported by Eli Lilly, Indianapolis, USA.

September 2024: HEOR Diploma training for leaders of dialysis centers in Algeria. The Diploma modules were produced and led by Dr. Jürgen Raths, Switzerland, Senior lecturer HEOR of VSCR and executed in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt. This program was supported by an unrestricted grant from Julphar Pharma, Algeria

GROWTH IN MEDICAL AFFAIRS AND MEDICINES DEVELOPMENT

VSCR and IMPACT in UAE started in October 2024 with the first virtual modular educational program about “Creating a high-performance organization in Medical Affairs and Medicines Development in Saudi Arabia” and finalized in December 2024 with Oncology and Real-World Evidence, and its importance in the corresponding studies.
